Tech giant Microsoft is establishing a dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) research and development center in London. This move signifies their commitment to expanding their AI footprint in the UK.

Leading the initiative will be London native Mustafa Suleyman, who recently joined Microsoft after co-founding Google DeepMind.

Microsoft’s investment reflects their confidence in the UK’s AI potential.  They previously announced a £2.5 billion investment to bolster AI research, infrastructure, and workforce skills across Britain.

This new AI hub strengthens Microsoft’s position as a global leader in AI, following their support for OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT.

While specific job numbers haven’t been released, the center signifies Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to AI development in the UK.
